Variable Speed Lathe

Clausing Industrial, Inc.er true toolroom performance, the Colchester Professional Series Variable Speed Lathe is equipped with ac inverter spindle drives that provide infinitely variable spindle speeds while maintaining constant horsepower. Swing models include 13-, 15-, 18-.and 21-in. sizes; depending on the model, center distances can be as short as 25 in. or as long as 120 in. All models turn to within 0.0001 in.

The 13-in. model is more than 40% heavier than the previous model, has a rigid wide bed, anti-friction linings on the carriage ways to prolong machine life, and is built to metric standards. Noise levels are less than 80 dBA at 40 in. envelope around the machine. It has more than 30:1 constant power range. Three spindle ranges are standard and have 3,250 rpm maximum variable spindle speed. Several safety features are also included.
